At the 2026 SGO Annual Meeting on Women’s Cancer, attendees were moved by an unforgettable keynote from Jess Wedel, a woman who turned one of life’s hardest diagnoses into a story of resilience, purpose, and extraordinary strength.

In “Breath by Breath: From Cancer to Everest,” Jess shares her journey from ovarian cancer survivor to becoming the first ovarian cancer survivor to summit Mount Everest as part of the Any Mountain expedition alongside gynecologic cancer survivors and oncologists. Her story is a powerful reminder that courage is not the absence of fear, but the decision to keep climbing anyway.
