Mya Burns, CAE
Director of Meetings
Mya serves as Director of Meetings for the Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO) and Foundation for Women’s Cancer (FWC) providing departmental support and oversight for all SGO meetings. She has more than 25 years of experience planning and executing in-person and virtual meetings for a variety of professional membership associations and most recently at the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer.
Mya earned her bachelor’s degree in international business and marketing from Illinois State University. In May 2024, Mya achieved her Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential which is the marker of a committed association professional who has demonstrated the wide range of knowledge essential to manage an association in today’s environment.
In her free time, Mya enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as playing tennis, hiking, traveling, and enjoying live music. She has two daughters and lives in Aurora, Colorado with her husband.
