Kayla Westman, MSL, CMP
Chief Operating Officer
As Chief Operating Officer, Kayla works in conjunction with the Chief Executive Officer to provide leadership and management support to implement strategy and vision. With oversight of Professional Education, Meetings, and Industry Relations/Business Development, Kayla provides motivation and thought leadership for staffing, training, and system needs that will allow the Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO) and Foundation for Women’s Cancer (FWC) to carry out its mission effectively, with the appropriate infrastructure.
An SGO staff member since August 2016, Kayla is a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and has previously served in various leadership roles at the SGO and FWC, with a primary focus on the development and growth of education and meetings.
Kayla has made her career in professional medical associations. She is a 40 Under 40 award recipient through the Association Forum and has previously worked for the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE). She earned her bachelor’s degree in business communications from Calvin College and her master’s degree in leadership studies from Walden University.
Kayla lives and works in the great state of Michigan, is an avid world-traveler, and is deeply obsessed with her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Miss. Poppy.
