Support for SGO Members and Their Patients Impacted by Hurricane Helene

We are deeply saddened by the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene, which made landfall this past weekend as a Category 4 storm. Its destructive path has affected areas where several of our members and their patients live and work, causing severe damage to homes, hospitals, and infrastructure. Tragically, many lives have been lost, roads remain closed, and numerous communities are without power or basic necessities.

The Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO) and Foundation for Women’s Cancer (FWC) extend our sympathies and unwavering support to all who have been impacted by this disaster.

There are several ways SGO members can contribute to relief efforts:

• Casting for Hope: SGO member Dr. Tara Castellano established a fundraiser that will provide support directly to patients with gynecologic cancer in local communities affected by the hurricane. Casting for Hope is a North Carolina nonprofit Carolina supporting gynecologic cancer patients with travel for cancer care and other basic needs while their communities rebuild
