SGO Upholds Nondiscrimination of LGBTQIA+ People in Health Care and the Workplace
In honor of Pride Month, the Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO) reaffirms its unwavering commitment to the rights, health and safety of LGBTQIA+ people and the goal of health equity.
The ruling by the Trump administration that would remove nondiscrimination protections for LGBTQIA+ people in health care directly contradicts SGO principles. As health care providers, upholding the welfare of our patients is paramount and unequivocal, no matter an individual’s sexual orientation, sex, gender identity or expression, race, color, religion, national origin, age, disability or marital status.
SGO members pledge to care for patients and treat coworkers with the utmost dignity, respect and compassion; and as an organization, SGO supports the progress of LGBTQIA+ rights and will continue to stand against all forms of discrimination in health care and the workplace.
