SGO Honors Award Recipients at 2024 Annual Meeting on Women’s Cancer
The Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO) Honors and Awards Committee, the SGO Board of Directors, and the SGO professional staff are pleased to announce 2023-2024 honor and award recipients.
The SGO Honors and Awards Committee was founded in 2011 to acknowledge the achievements made in gynecologic oncology and those who have contributed toward these advancements for women with gynecologic malignancies. “Part of human nature is the pursuit of joy and to have a clear sense of purpose. As physicians and specifically gynecologic oncologists, our passion to care for people with gynecologic cancers unite us in a common thread of joy, frustrations, grief and excitement for discoveries that help out our patients,” said Lorna Rodriguez-Rodriguez, MD, of City of Hope.
SGO currently awards individuals whose efforts have made an impact on the prevention, care, and treatment of gynecologic cancers. “Our awardees remind us that in the words of Gandhi ‘The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.’ We are humbled by the awardees’ contributions to our mission of improving lives through the prevention and treatment of gynecologic cancers and are proud to honor them.” said Sandra Brooks, MD, MBA.
On Saturday, March 16, 2024, during the Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO) Annual Meeting on Women’s Cancer, the SGO announced 24 award recipients. Recipients were honored via video during the meeting’s opening ceremony, welcomed to an on-site photo opportunity with the SGO President, and will be featured on SGO social media accounts.
The complete list of honor and award recipients can be viewed and downloaded here. SGO honors and awards recipients, alongside Foundation for Women’s Cancer research grant, award, and prize recipients, are also featured in this video slideshow.
Congratulations to all 2023-2024 honors and award recipients!
