Dear colleagues, friends, and gynecologic oncology community,
Coming together to learn, network, and advance our collective knowledge and expertise has long been a priority for SGO members. And this year, some incredible SGO volunteer leaders are coming together to plan and execute fantastic meeting opportunities.
It’s time to mark your calendars!
First on our agenda is the highly anticipated SGO Allied Health Professionals Meeting, taking place in the vibrant city of Phoenix, AZ, from September 8-10, 2023. In the words of planning committee chair Nicole Dreibelbis, CRNP, WHNP-BC, and vice chair Sarah Irish, FNP-BC, “attending the Allied Health Professionals Meeting provides a special opportunity for all members of the healthcare team to learn from each other and network in order to continue to improve patient outcomes. This year’s unique meeting will emphasize the importance of mentorship within SGO and provide a dedicated session for those newer to gynecologic oncology to aid in building their foundational knowledge of malignant processes and treatments. For the third year in a row, a hands-on skills session is being offered to provide a controlled environment dedicated to advancing practitioners’ comfort with performing common in-office procedures.” P.S. – The meeting schedule is available and registration is open!
Next up, we have the SGO Winter Meeting, set against the breathtaking backdrop of Olympic Valley, CA, from January 25-27, 2024. Winter Meeting Course Directors Wendel Naumann, MD, and Ritu Salani, MD, MBA, express that “the Winter SGO meeting is a great opportunity for students, residents, and fellows to share their research through “rapid fire” oral presentations and poster sessions. In addition, the cohesive networking with leaders in the field while enjoying your favorite winter sport is incomparable.” The Abstract Committee Program Chairs, Marilyn Huang, MD, and Thomas Krivak, MD, feel that the meeting is “very inclusive and provides an excellent education opportunity for all health care providers, promotes engaging clinical discussion, and is an excellent networking event.”
Finally, we have the highlight of our calendar – the SGO Annual Meeting on Women’s Cancer. This prestigious event will be held in the captivating city of San Diego, CA, from March 16-19, 2024. The planning committee, under the direction of Bhavana Pothuri, MD, MS, and Matthew Powell, MD, are preparing a dazzling array of keynote speakers, cutting-edge research presentations, and interactive workshops.
