While our professional staff embody the heart and soul of the SGO and Foundation for Women’s Cancer (FWC), our committee leaders and members represent the vital backbone, driving forward exciting programs and strategic initiatives that shape the future of gynecologic oncology. These committees provide a platform for members to contribute their expertise, share innovative ideas, and foster a collaborative environment benefiting our entire community. It’s time once again for the call for committee volunteers!

Whether you are a seasoned professional or early in your career, your unique perspective and skills will help us Multiply Our Impact this year and beyond. FWC Chair Ginger Gardner, MD, and I encourage each of you to consider where your passion and expertise can make the most impact. STATE OF THE SOCIETY SURVEY

HONORING A BELOVED COLLEAGUE

I end this Presidential Matters with a heavy heart. Last week, we lost a beloved colleague, mentor, scientist, and friend Michael Frumovitz, MD, MPH, MS, CPXP.

His life and work profoundly shaped our community and mission. His passing is a tremendous loss to his family, friends, colleagues, and countless patients. Michael embodied servant leadership, with tireless efforts in patient advocacy, rare tumor research, and mentoring the next generation of oncologists. No one in our field has multiplied our impact more than Michael. I encourage you to read about his remarkable life in our SGO/FWC tribute statement and consider contributing to the newly established FWC Michael Frumovitz, MD, MPH, MS, CPXP, Rare Gynecologic Cancer Research Memorial Fund to honor his memory.

In these challenging times, let us find strength in one another and draw inspiration from the exemplary lives of Michael Frumovitz and other cherished colleagues who have passed away. Too many of our beloved oncology peers are diagnosed with cancer and other serious illnesses, highlighting the vulnerabilities we all share, even as we dedicate our lives to caring for others. These diagnoses also remind us of the significant work still needed to optimize cancer prevention and treatment.

As we passionately work to advance our field and improve patient outcomes, I urge you, dear colleagues, to take good care of yourselves and prioritize your own well-being. In honor of those who have faced cancer and other health challenges, let’s renew our commitment to both our patients and ourselves. Thank you for all you do.
