DoD Ovarian Cancer Research Program News and Funding Opportunities

The Department of Defense (DoD) Ovarian Cancer Research Program (OCRP) recently published a list of research applications submitted in Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 that have been recommended for funding and anticipated funding opportunities in the current FY 2021 cycle. SGO advocacy resulted in an unprecedented congressional appropriation of $35 million for the OCRP in FY 2020. SGO was able to obtain that same level of funding, again for the program in FY 2021. This increase in FY 2020 funding allowed for a pay-line of 20% with 47 individual grants being recommended for funding. Since the inception of the OCRP in FY 1997, SGO advocacy has helped to secure $406.5 million in program funding, which has supported 526 research awards.
