2022-2023 Committee Volunteer Opportunities – Accepting Applications

News Article
Sep 16, 2021

The Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO) is seeking volunteers to serve on committees for the 2022 program year, the SGO 2023 Annual Meeting on Women’s Cancer Program Committee and the SGO 2023 Winter Meeting Program Committee. Please review the application instructions below for committees and program committees, respectively.

Certain committees will serve a joint purpose for SGO and the Foundation for Women’s Cancer (FWC). The duration of an appointment is two years with the option for reappointment. The appointment for the 2023 Annual Meeting on Women’s Cancer Program Committee and 2023 Winter Meeting Program Committee is a one-year term.

We aim to create committees that represent the full diversity of SGO membership and strongly encourage members of any eligible type (full, associate or trainee), health care profession, career level, race and ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability or geographic location to apply.

For reference, please read the SGO and FWC’s Conflict of Interest Disclosure and Disassociation Policy.

To apply to serve on an SGO committee:

Selection Process:

  • Per SGO policy, the SGO President-Elect I will review all committee volunteer submissions and committee Chair recommendations by the end of the fiscal year (Dec. 31) and finalize all committee appointments.
  • All applicants will be notified of the appointment outcomes within thirty (30) days of the finalized committee appointments.

If you are already on an SGO committee and are not expected to rotate off in 2022, you do not need to complete this form, unless you are interested in serving on another committee. If you are uncertain about the remaining length of your term, please contact your staff liaison.

To apply to serve on the 2023 Annual Meeting on Women’s Cancer Program Committee:

Selection Process:

  • Per SGO Policy the Chairs of the 2023 Annual Meeting Program Committee will review all applications for this committee.
  • All applicants will be notified of the appointment outcomes in mid-Jan. 2022.

To apply to serve on the 2023 Winter Meeting Program Committee:

Remember, to be considered for a committee appointment, you must be a member in good standing. Make sure to submit your 2022 membership dues as soon as possible.
