Wellness Committee Launches New Podcast: It’s 3 A.M., Do You Know Where Your Fellows Are?

Tune into “SGO on the Go: Ways to Wellness” for the first episode of a new podcast series developed by the Wellness Committee to celebrate aspects of wellness throughout the SGO community. The inaugural episode, “It’s 3 A.M., Do You Know Where Your Fellows Are?” features an engaging interview about the SGO Wellness Curriculum moderated by Andrea Hagemann, MD, with special guests, Taylor Turner, MD, and Sarah Lynam, MD.

“I’ve learned to accept that I will run out of steam,” said Dr. Turner when describing the decision fatigue that he experienced coming out of fellowship. When those moments crop up, he said, “I just need to back away from this robotic consult, stare at the ceiling, and not make decisions for a minute.”

In reference to the wellness curriculum, Dr. Lynam said, “It’s been refreshing to shift gears and open the door to having those conversations. In my own medical upbringing, we did not stop to take those moments… now we have a toolbox for having those kinds of discussions.”
