The SGO 2024 Annual Meeting on Women’s Cancer — The Power of Shared Purpose —  is next month! In preparation for the SGO Annual Meeting, the Society of Gynecologic Oncology congratulates the February 2024 SGO Member of the Month: Jennifer Mueller, MD, associate attending surgeon at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY.

Dr. Mueller was nominated by Diana Pearre, MD, and Lindsay Ferguson, MD, for demonstrating excellence in one (or more) of the following areas:

“I met Jenny Mueller during my oncology rotation in residency,” Dr. Pearre wrote in her nomination form. “She was, at that time, a knowledgeable, friendly, and driven fellow. She has become an accomplished surgeon and an exceptional mentor. Not only has her reach been at her home institution, MSKCC, but through her innovations, mentorship, dedication to volunteering, and teaching, she has gone on to mentor many gyn oncology fellows and early career attending. As a mother, she also is an excellent resource on how to navigate an early career while balancing the responsibilities of parenthood.”

Dr. Ferguson added that Dr. Mueller created a podcast series for boards prep that was an excellent study tool.

Fun Facts about Jennifer Mueller:

· She went out of her way, during the pandemic, to drive for hours to bring friends baked goods.

“My professional life is enriched when I can connect in meaningful ways with others,” said Dr. Mueller. “I have seen how connection amplifies who we are, what we do, and how it enlarges our capacity for growth and creativity. Spending intentional time connecting with fellows and residents, colleagues, and my patients is a big part of how I continue to feel fulfilled in the work I do.”

Now through the SGO 2024 Annual Meeting, SGO will recognize Members of the Month through online channels, as well as break slides during the SGO Annual Meeting in San Diego on March 16-18, 2024.
