As monkeypox continues to spread in the U.S. and around the world, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is learning that many affected persons are experience painful anogenital and mucosal lesions. CDC Director Rochelle Walensky, MD, MPH, shared more information on this evolving medical crisis and tools for clinicians to manage pain in patients with monkeypox in a letter released July 27, 2022.
