NIH Public Comment on Research Gaps & Cervical Cancer Survival

News Article
Aug 18, 2021
The NIH Office of Research on Women’s Health (ORWH), in conjunction with the Advisory Committee on Research on Women’s Health (ACRWH), is seeking comments from the scientific community, professional societies, and the general public to assist in identifying gaps in research and clinical practice pertaining to the following:
• Rising maternal morbidity and mortality rates
• Increasing rates of chronic debilitating conditions in women
• Stagnant cervical cancer survival rates

The comments will help inform the upcoming event titled “Advancing NIH Research on the Health of Women: A 2021 Conference,” which will be held virtually on Oct. 20, 2021. The conference is being convened in response to a congressional request for NIH to address its research efforts related to the above topics.
Comments are due Sept. 15 and may be submitted directly to Elizabeth Barr, PhD, at WHCC@od.nih.gov. For more details on the open comment period, please visit the Federal Register website.
